2024 - Chronological Bible Readings! Read through the Bible in ONE YEAR - as the story unfolds.

Reading the Bible Chronologically in 2024

This year, instead of reading from Genesis to Revelation, we will read the Bible as the story flows, as it happened and was written. There are several plans out there and I have worked to combine them into a plan that lets the Bible tell its own story "as it happened." Remember, the Bible is inspired, but not in the order the books appear in our Bibles.  The Old Testament is approximately 3/4 of the Bible, but we will give more emphasis to the New Testament, spending half the year in the Old Testament and half in the New.

Get Started January 1

In recent years, I have been alternating between the four readings-a-day plan we did in 2023 and the chronological plan we will do in 2024. Each day I give you a bit of background to remind you where we are in the Bible's one story, and then you will read approximately 3 to 5 chapters, seldom less but sometimes a little more. I have cobbled together this chronological plan from a few others. No one agrees completely as to the exact order of the books of the Bible, but I've done my best to come up with something fairly reasonable.

As is always true, read my devotional if you have time, but the key is that you read God's word. Application questions follow to help you think about what you read.
